is this meant to be a book cover? i just love it. the design is deep and powerful. :meditate: (Orwell is one of my favourites, so your work on him is going to be so).

What if your entire reason for trying in this world was ripped away from you without warning and you were left cold, dry, and lonely in the middle of nowhere in a place you really don't want to be?

I just saw this today. Well done. I'm reading the book again right now. I also read "The Giver" and watched "Equilibrium" - as recommended by someone in your journal comments.

I'm hung up on the idea that "1984" had something specific to say to me 20 years ago... and that I can somehow remember or rediscover the message... because it is ripening.

Or, maybe I'm quite simply mad.
:iconsihnstarr:
If i ever can afford a print account, i will be sure to put it up.

If you are mad, then we make a great team.

And in the words of Julia...

"i should suit you then, dear...i'm corrupt...to the very bones."

i have the belief that somehow i am here to help you with this 1984 message. It could be just simple comraderie obsession or it could be something more.

the answer will come, i do know that.

When I was growing up, I fell in love with scifi because of people like George orwell, and H.G. Wells. I read the works of Doc Smith, and Edgar Rice Burroughs. I've been hooked all my life. This is truely a wonderful piece of nostalgia. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. You've done a magnificent job with this piece.
:iconsihnstarr:
Thank you. i grew up with sci-fi too. Bradbury, Asimov and Clarke were all in my hands along with the others that you have mentioned.

You're very welcome. SciFi is a love we never outgrow. I've been a Treky as long as I can remember, and at the risk of getting a bunch of comments about what series is better and so on, I have to say I have loved each, and every one of the sequels to the original series as much as I loved the first. I have a love of horror, and fantasy as well, but SciFi will always, thanks to so many great writers, be my first love.
