I got this in the mail the other day. I am a part of the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy(or PPMD) organization. PPMD is trying to get more money allocated from the Labor-HHS Appropriations Subcommittee to Muscular Dystropy research going on at the CDC and the NIH. I called my senators and sent a letter too but, if all of you out there would do the same, it would really help out. Here below are the details:

We are continuing to push for Senate signatures on Capitol Hill and need your help to gather as many as possible! As such, now is an ideal time for you to make another follow-up call to your Senators to ask that he/she signs onto the letter being circulated by Senator Susan Collins and Senator Sherrod Brown.

Here is the short list of Senators who have officially signed on:

Sen. Susan Collins
Sen. Sherrod Brown
Sen. Chris Dodd
Sen. Carl Levin
Sen. Dian Feinstein
Sen. Barbara Boxer

Additionally, the following Senators have inquired about the letter:

Sen. Orrin Hatch
Sen. Robert Menendez

If you do not see your member on the list above please do a follow-up phone call to that office encouraging them to sign on. Remember that their offices must contact either Priscilla Hanley with Senator Susan Collins at 4-2523 or Eleanor Dehoney with Senator Sherrod Brown 4-2315 in order to sign on.

If your Senator told you he/she would sign but is not included on the list above, you should contact the Health LA in that office to make sure they follow through as appropriate. You can provide them with the following Dear Colleague Letter for reference.
